Rob Hanson

Music Recording & Digital Editing:  Rob is a music literate recording engineer with well over 200 album credits for international labels and independent releases.   His work has received a JUNO nomination and critical acclaim.  His speciality is recording in the rich acoustics of churches and performance halls across Ontario. Full Time Recording Positions: Senior Engineer for Brock Sound Productions Senior Staff Engineer for Paul Hoffert, Music Composer Senior Engineer for Marquis Classics Record Label (dist. EMI)   Music Education & Giving Back Giving back is at the core of everything Rob does, with a long time passion for supporting music education initiatives in Canada.  Each year Rob is proud to donate his time, expertise and a percentage of his sales to bring the joy and benefits of music to youth. Rob is the founder and Executive Director of Hometown Music Council a non-profit organisation dedicated to connecting community through music.  In 2015, working with Canadian Heritage in celebration of the Flag of Canada’s 50th Anniversary, Rob spearheaded the largest professional recording of O Canada in history.  A massive technical feat that pushed the boundaries of recording technology, Rob recorded and mixed together the voices of 28,725 elementary school children singing O Canada in every province and territory of Canada. www.HometownMusic.ca  From 2001 to 2005 Rob developed and presented the Fun 2 Sing Music Education Program which reached over 120 elementary schools and over 25,000 students across Ontario.  Provided as a recording session workshop, students were encouraged to get involved and were featured on CDs with other schools from their community. Rob continues to provide in class recording session workshops that allow students of all ages to learn first hand lessons about the exciting world of studio recording techniques.  Working closely with music educators and by tying in music curriculum objectives, it inspires students to get involved and build their interest in music.  Contact us for more details on this exciting opportunity for your school.
